2021 Nina M. Nolcox Nursing Scholarship
for Continuing Education

The purpose of the Nina M. Nolcox Nursing Scholarship is to award a qualified nurse, employed by a CAADS member, a paid registration to attend CAADS educational conferences along with a stipend of $750 to cover related expenses. Nina Nolcox, RN, PHN, was a visionary in public health nursing who channeled her knowledge, passion and skills to helping low income adults with chronic health conditions living in underserved communities maintain their independence and dignity as they aged. Nina was a fierce advocate for adult day services and her community up until her final days when she succumbed to breast cancer after a valiant fight. Nina often said that she found her passion and professional home in adult day services after working in many nursing settings. Nina left her mark on our field and on memories among her many colleagues who recall her passion and vision. This scholarship honors that legacy of excellence in and commitment to adult day services.

What's Needed for Eligibility:

1) To honor the legacy of Nina M. Nolcox, RN, PHN, ideal scholarship applicants:

• Exemplify nursing leadership
• Display a passion for service
• Demonstrate a commitment to enhancing quality care for participants

Promote innovative nursing practices in the adult day setting​

​To be considered eligible candidates will be:
A Licensed Nurse in good standing with applicable Nursing Board.

• LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE (LVN)

         Licensed by California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians

• REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

         Licensed by California Board of Registered Nursing​

2) Be employed by and currently working at an Adult Day Services center in membership and in good standing with CAADS.
 
​Contracted (outsourced) nurses are ineligible to apply.

3) Past recipients of the Nina M. Nolcox Scholarship are ineligible to apply
